You don’t have to perform for your photos.
You just have to be yourselves.
I don’t want you to remember the poses.
I want you to remember how it felt.
Your toddler’s sticky hands.
Your baby’s sleepy little sighs.
The way your husband pulled you closer.
The sound of everyone laughing in the kitchen.
The moment you realized you were about to meet your baby.
The wind in your dress on the top of a mountain.
These are the photographs that matter to me.
I won’t ask your family to stand perfectly still and smile at the camera.
I’ll give you space to be yourselves, and I’ll document what happens when you do.
